Where stories surface
The Swampscott Public Library, located just 500 feet from the Atlantic in the historic Boston suburb of Swampscott, blends classic early American architecture with seaside charm. The community is steeped in history—and legendary lore—including the famed Swampscott sea serpent said to have appeared off the coast generations ago. We set out to translate that personality into a digital experience that feels equally timeless and inviting. Through playful illustrations, subtle coastal references, and thoughtful storytelling, the website captures the spirit of discovery inside the library while honoring the building’s heritage and the town’s deep sense of place.
