Englert Theatre is a true Iowa City icon. Just steps from the University of Iowa campus, the Englert has anchored the arts and music scene for more than a century, holding a special place in the hearts of generations of students and audiences. The challenge was to honor that history while giving the theater a modern identity that feels relevant and ready for what’s next.

We partnered with the Englert on a thoughtful rebrand and new website that balances nostalgia with momentum. Inspired by the theater’s iconic marquee and downtown patterns, we created a contemporary visual system anchored by bold typography and flexible design elements. The site features a highly interactive events system that lets visitors explore upcoming performances, dive into artist bios, and listen to playlists or watch videos via Spotify and YouTube—bringing the excitement of live shows online before the curtain rises.
