We were thrilled to attend the 58th Annual ADAI Exhibition a couple of weeks ago. ADAI (Art Directors Association of Iowa) is an organization that’s been bringing Iowa professionals and students in the design industry together for nearly 60 years. That’s older than astroturf, handheld calculators and 5-digit zip codes!
As always, the show was filled with extraordinary work created by Iowa’s finest design professionals and students. We were honored to have three projects given an Award of Excellence.
The first was a spruced up brand for Casa de los Monos. This Spanish-style hideaway is rooted with history and culture, and their brand was having a hard time showcasing this. Made with sand, marble, ocean rocks and intricate carvings, the Casa de los Monos provides a warm, adventurous and fun escape back in time to a simpler world, which we showed with the use of monos, updated colors and font.
Next up was the website for INVISION Architecture. With offices in Waterloo and Des Moines, INVISION has been making their incredible mark on Iowa for more than 101 years. You can read more about their website and launch here.
And finally, a holiday video card for Otten Johnson Robinson Neff + Ragonetti. For the past two years, we’ve had a ball brainstorming and putting our heads together with Otten Johnson to create an outstanding holiday card to spread holiday cheer to their community, clients and friends. This year’s card captured the heart of downtown Denver, CO during the holiday season with a drone and some layered animation effects! Watch and read more about the winning card here and just for fun, watch 2014’s holiday video here.
A big shout out goes to the ADAI board, volunteers and judges for making the exhibition a spectacular success!
